Couples don't pay for square metres. They pay for how a stay makes them feel, and for the story they'll tell afterwards. That's why one well-designed couples' suite can earn more than several standard rooms, and why it's one of the simplest ways for a lodge to lift revenue without building anything new.
Why is accommodation a commodity and experience the premium?
Online, most rooms look the same: a bed, a view, a price. So guests compare on price. A suite designed around an experience breaks out of that comparison, because there's nothing to compare it to.
What do couples actually pay for?
- Privacy. Not being overlooked, not sharing spaces, not hearing the next room.
- A private hot tub or outdoor bath. The feature couples mention most.
- Fire and outdoor living. A boma or fire deck that makes every evening an occasion.
- Design they photograph. Lighting, textures and one or two signature pieces.
- Something to do together. A guided experience that helps them reconnect.
- The story. "You have to see this place" is the most valuable review there is.
What is the proof?
Our flagship suite, Naughty by Nature in Wilderness, began as an empty shell. Today it books 24 to 28 nights a month at R5,500 to R6,500 a night, and is booked into August 2027. See how it was created.
Do you need more rooms?
You don't need more rooms. You need one worth paying more for. For a lodge or guest farm, the opportunity is usually one suite that underperforms: the honeymoon room nobody books, the cottage at the end of the path, the unit that only fills when everything else is full. Turning that one suite into an Experience Suite means:
- Higher rates for that suite, set by the experience rather than the market average
- Bookings further ahead, marketed to an audience of couples who already follow us
- A reason for press and social media to talk about your property
- No construction: we fit out an existing, approved building
How does the partnership work for lodges?
- We visit and recommend which suite and which of our signature themes suits it.
- We design and fit it out completely, through Geani Gold.
- We license the Experience Suites brand and the guided couples' experience, and train your team.
- We market and book it. Your team runs it day to day.
- We earn only when it earns: 15% on bookings through our website, 5% on bookings from other platforms.
Investment starts from R2.25M, quoted per site. Founding partners receive regional exclusivity.

How can a lodge increase revenue without adding rooms?
Turn one existing suite into a signature experience that commands a higher rate and books further ahead. One room worth paying more for can outperform several ordinary ones.
What do couples look for in a luxury stay?
Privacy, a private hot tub or bath, outdoor living with a fire, design that feels intentional, and something to experience together.
How does the Experience Suites partnership work for lodges?
We design and fit out one of your existing suites, license the Experience Suites brand and guided couples' experience, and market it to our audience. Your team keeps running it.
